Nic is a speaker, writer, researcher and health care professional based in Sydney, Australia. He has been involved in research on stress and diabetes, human touch sensation, and muscle pain. His current research at the School of Public Health, University of Sydney, is on the reliability of medical tests.
For many years, Nic has focused on writing for health professionals. He has a passion is to get high quality health care information into the hands of the general public – the health care consumers – to empower them to make better health care decisions for their life and for their families.
He has graduate qualifications in health science, pain medicine, and clinical epidemiology, and is currently undertaking his PhD at the University of Sydney.
Nic developed panic attacks and anxiety in his late 20’s. For various reasons he didn’t take medication or attend formal therapy. Instead, he learned how to manage anxiety himself, and after experiencing daily anxiety for over 4 years, Nic completely recovered and has been gradually sharing his story with others to inspire them to overcome anxiety also.
